Well I'm finally back from my maternity leave and I am so excited! I have loved every minute of being home but I am definitely ready to be back to work- I have a lot of changes for 2010 but until then enjoy the sneak peaks from my first session back!

Sorry everyone! I know that I have been MIA for some time now! Getting on my blog has been lower on my priority list as of recent due to my constant morning sickness! Yes, you read that right- I am pregnant:) I am due in early October which means that if you are wanting to order your holiday cards this year you will need to book your session early! I will be closing for my maternity leave at the end of September through Christmas. I am going to schedule the holiday mini sessions again this year only they will take place at the end of August instead of waiting until October/November. The good news is that you will have your cards well before Thanksgiving giving you ample time to get them addressed so yours will be the first ones your friends and family receive! Baby Z* was such a great sport- he let me try a few different poses- one of my favorites is this close up where he found his thumb:) Mom said that this was the first time and I captured it! I'm curious to find out if he's decided he likes his fingers over the paci.....

I had so much fun capturing sweet baby Z* and his big brother M*. These boys are so adorable. M* wasn't sure about me at first....but as soon as I shared my smarties- he decided he liked me- well- he learned very quickly that he could work the session to get more candy:) It's a good thing I keep a few tricks in my camera bag! With Christmas right around the corner, I am sure you are starting to worry about not having the right portrait to use for your Holiday greeting cards! Well, you can stop stressing. I am offering a wonderful holiday special for 2 days only! This is the perfect opportunity to capture those family portraits that you have always wanted! I am scheduling 12 sessions, so hurry and book your spot now. Each session will take place either in-studio or at a local park(depending on the day your book) and will last 25 minutes. Within a week, you will receive a private online gallery containing 8-10 proofs.

How it works:
• Call or email me to reserve your date and time. I will submit an invoice via paypal for $85 which must be paid to reserve your spot. You will then have a variety Holiday cards to choose from- samples can be seen below.
• The $85 fee will cover your 25minute session and will also include your choice of: (50) 5x7 holiday greeting cards -or- (1) 8x10 and (2)5x7. Additional portraits can be purchased a la carte at the current pricing and additional holiday greeting cards can be purchased at the discounted price of $31.25 per package of 25(a savings of $25).

This morning I met up with the A* Family- they are expecting baby #3 and I had the opportunity to capture them while they are still a family of four! Aren't they the most adorable family? I had such a great time this morning- well-I could have done without a few minor details- such as having left my lightmeter on the sidewalk a few blocks away and then coming home with itchy bug bites on my neck and arms....but, the images captured- are amazing! Fresh Faces of ‘09 photo shoot

Are you comfortable in front of the camera? Know someone who is? Want to earn some cash while getting phenomenal high school senior pictures?

Be the envy of your classmates. One male and one female high school senior (must live and attend high school in the Indianapolis area) will be selected by Details Portrait Art, LLC. (DPA) and featured as the Fresh Faces of '09, your images will not only be seen on business cards and marketing brochures but will also be seen all over DPA’s website and blog.

What’s in it for you?

For being a DPA Fresh Face, you will receive three weekend sessions at no charge, as well as 48 wallet photos per session—that’s 144 FREE wallet pictures! You will also receive customized business cards using images from your sessions to pass out to your friends.*

Your sessions can take place at the locations of your choice, within the Indianapolis area—from your grandparents’ farm to the streets of downtown Indy. In order to give you seasonal variety when selecting your final images, DPA will aim to space out your sessions, with the first sitting in late spring/early summer and continuing into the fall and winter.

*Following each session, images will be posted to a private online gallery for two weeks. If you are chosen as a DPA Fresh Face of '09, both parents and child will be required to sign a model release allowing Details Portrait Art, LLC, the rights to use your images on marketing brochures, business cards, DPA's blog/website, etc. All images will be owned and copyright protected to Details Portrait Art, LLC.

Another capture from one of my sessions this weekend! Aren't these girls scrumptious? They were so sweet in their little spring dresses! I know mom was worried about how the pictures turned out because Miss O* wasn't thrilled with getting her picture taken with her big sister- and well- I don't think there is any reason for worry!

MOPS Portrait Party

As a way to earn money for my MOPS group I offered a portrait party giving people a discounted session as well as donating part of the proceeds to MOPS. It was a lot of fun photographing these sweet little girls. They were the first session of the day and boy aren't they cute! I still have to finish proofing their session as well as the other sessions from today but here are a few samples of big J and little J!
